My Dance Roots
Just for fun I thought it would be nice to have some pictures of previous dance troupes I’ve been a part of. As dancers grow and change, or sometimes move, they move on from one group to the next. Sometimes new troupes just don’t last. Others fade into the background for a while, only to return later. Here’s some of my performing roots!
Tribal Storm
Tribal Storm was a collaborative groupe from Boston. We performed at three events the summer I was with them, the Midsummer Halfi with Za-Beth, the Jane Doe Benefit, and Raqs Spooki. They had one performance after I had left them due to creative differences before the troupe split and all went their own separate ways. This photo is from Raqs Spooki, 2006

Element
This was another collaborative project from some of the local dancers in the Fort Hood area. We only were together for one performance in the summer of 2008. After that we simply decided we weren’t going to fit together as a troupe. Gina went on to help me found Randomosity, and the lovely Sariah performs at the Shisha Lounge.

WyldeFyre Productions
Back when I moved to Texas, I got a lovely message from a dancer from Austin. She and the group she was dancing with wanted to invite me down to dance at one of their shows, a little venue called Amy’s Ice Cream on South Congress in Austin. I loved working with them. Unfortunately, the location at Amy’s Ice Cream got shut down. I moved with them to Hot Mama’s, then again to The Enchanted Forest. In that time I expanded from simply belly dancing to doing fire fusion! They really opened a new door for me. While we no longer have a weekly venue, I still sometimes dance with the other members of WyldeFyre Productions at drum circles down in Austin. I still go out and perform with them at private parties and other events. We don’t see each other much anymore, but I’m still a part of WyldeFyre, though a distant part. This picture was taken at a benefit in the summer of 2008.

Randomosity
This was a troupe founded by myself and one of my former companions in Element World Fusion, Gina. She and I started this troupe as our own project for like-minded dancers. A number of dancers from my Tribal Fusion and ATS classes joined us. Due to Gina’s recent move out of the area, it is uncertain whether Randomosity will continue on without her. Though this isn’t a performance picture, it’s one of the few pictures of members from the troupe!
