Opportunity Knocked in Texas

Tonight I came to a shocking reality, I’ve done over a hundred performances since my arrival in Texas! Is it really possible? Could I have really gotten out there that much? It certainly doesn’t seem like I’ve been on stage quite so much! Isn’t it shocking how time flies?
There are a lot of people responsible for this. There are many who I need to thank for these opportunities, and many who are presenting new chances to get out there and dance every day! I don’t know what I would do without you all. Many thanks to each and every one of you!
When I first got to Texas, I had barely set foot in the state when I was sent a message by a member of Wyldfyre Productions, a fire troupe in Austin. They were looking for bellydancers for early in their show, before the sun went down. I was just recovering from childbirth and felt so out of practice, so I got myself back in shape so I could go perform. I’m glad I did. Were it not for the wonderful Wyldfyre crew, I never would have started performing with fire myself! I never would have had many of the opportunities I’ve had. I’m thankful for every night I shared the stage with Wyldefyre!
The next introduction I had to the bellydance world was through Desert Passion Middle Eastern Dance Theater. While I didn’t quite know what to make of the event at first, I’ve grown to love the shows with Desert Passion and always look forward to each and every new show! I only wish I lived closer so I could be there more! M’lilah and Drakon are both wonderful. Thank you both!
Thank you so much to the Shisha Lounge for hosting monthly (and sometimes more often) dance shows! It’s been a wonderful chance to perform close to home. I love Austin, but it truly is nice to have somewhere nearby.
Thank you to Gaia’s Garden for hosting my classes for the second year running! I love the location and everyone there is friendly and wonderful. It’s more than just the benefit to my business. I truly feel like I’ve found a home at Gaia’s. I think my students have too!
Let’s not forget the students! I don’t know what I’d do with out you. (Well, maybe teach a lot fewer classes!) It’s been wonderful to watch you grow in the time we’ve been dancing together, and it’s always great to see a new face. I’m so glad I had this opportunity to teach each of you!
Finally, thank you to Lovey (aka True Love)! Keep spreading the peace! We all could use some more of that!
Since my first arrival in Texas, dance has taken off for me! I never anticipated this result, but I’m certainly grateful for all of those who have helped me on my way! Thank you all so much for your support, for the wonderful opportunities you’ve presented me with, and most of all, thank you for being so wonderful!
